The Start of the Season

Today is 1 December
Christmas begins today.
A date to sure remember,
For the cleric and the lay.

So set the lights upon the house,
Hang wreaths upon the door.
Stir the festive eggnog,
And lay the presents on the floor.

Beneath the tree so festive,
With its garlands and its bows,
For Christmas is upon us,
As everybody knows.

So take this festive poem,
And make haste down to the store,
To purchase Christmas presents,
Toys, clothes, knick-knacks and more.

Today is 1 December
With the ban on Christmas through.
Be merry, 'tis the season.
Happy Holidays to You!
